Being faced with needle phobic people every day just one of the trials endured by the medical profession, they squirm, they wriggle, they cry and they yell, and thats just the adults!  PLEASE is the latest technology that delivers drugs previously prescribed by injection, via a laser.  Sounds great and a little bit Star Trek even in this day and age so how exactly does it work?

It may help to know that PLEASE stands for Painless Laser Epidermal System, but even with your best guess you may still be wondering quite how the drugs are administered.  The handheld laser gun is held against the skin, where it creates a series of micropores.  The medication is the applied in the form of a stick on patch, the clever micropores allowing safe passage to the system.

This device could be a miracle for the long term needles stick home users, diabetic patients for example are set to benefit most.  There are two versions available, one for just such groups of people, and one for the medical profession that provides quicker treatment time, and both have already been approved for European markets.

Due to the way the laser works there is no bleeding, as the micropores do not sit that deeply, and although this is laser technology there is no burning of the skin, it really is a safe painless process that is set to revolutionize childhood immunization and long term illness requiring medication via the skin, we think this is going to be a a big hit in a very short space of time.  Currently we haven’t been able to track down a US release date but if the European medical profession embrace it as well as we suspect, it certainly wont be long.
